Svante Redwood
Svante (Redwood) is a carbon capture and removal facility located in Burnaby, BC, supporting technologies designed to reduce carbon emissions from the pulp and paper, cement, steel, and energy industries. The upgraded facility is capable of capturing up to 10 million tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Cancon's scope of work included civil and infrastructure support both within and outside the building footprint. Inside the facility, work focused on foundation preparation to accommodate upgraded structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Outside the building footprint, Cancon installed new storm, sanitary, water, and electrical services, as well as loading bays and drive aisle infrastructure to support ongoing operations.
The project was designed and constructed in phases, requiring extensive coordination across multiple disciplines. Cancon was integrally involved in day-to-day coordination and overall project planning, ensuring all components aligned seamlessly while maintaining schedule certainty.
