Winskill Park Storm Line Upgrades
This project involved the installation of a 1500mm diameter concrete storm main under very restricted access conditions within Winskill Park in Delta, BC. The scope included the construction of large-diameter box manholes, which were designed by Cancon Construction to accommodate complex tie-ins and site constraints.
The work was completed under a very tight schedule as it had a direct impact on the critical path of the new Delta Aquatics Centre. This storm relocation was integral to the building construction remaining on track, and work was completed on time as required.
The project was located within a highly sensitive public environment — construction took place in a popular City of Delta park. To minimize disruption and preserve park usability, the construction corridor was kept as compact as possible, reducing overall intrusion and final restoration requirements. The project was completed successfully, and both the City of Delta and Unitech expressed strong satisfaction with the quality and outcome of the work.
